Wednesday 12th October (Session 4)

This lesson we did more editing of our film and completed the ordering. We cut out the clips that we didn't need and sped up some and faded some colours to make them as well fitting as possible. This was because, when filming we used two different cameras; and due to unavailability, only one was HD. Therefore, the filming done on this camera is of a brighter light and better quality than that of the other camera despite them appearing the same whilst filming. We also faced the problem that when watching back our clip one of the shots had been filmed from the left side of one of the characters, rather than the right side- breaking the 180' rule. Hence, we then had to research how to flip this and found that we needed to use the "flop" technique on Final Cut Express and we were able to flip the shot around so that it appeared as if it had been filmed over the right shoulder instead of the left. Although this took a while to figure out, it saved us from having to re-film these sections and we are therefore pleased with our results.
